Karimganj: A police constable was arrested on Tuesday for allegedy assaulting a doctor in Karimganj district of south Assam.
Police said the constable, Kamrul Haque, went to Srigouri Hospital in Badarpur town on Monday and asked for a medical certificate from a doctor Pradyut Jyoti Saikia.
When Saikia asked Haque to come again a day later to collect the certificate, the constable did not relent and allegedly assaulted the doctor.
Saikia filed an FIR at the Badarpur police station. The police on Tuesday arrested Haque. (PTI)
