 Shillong: A two-day workshop entitled CPCRI-ICAR-NEH planning- cum inception on enhancing and sustaining livelihood in NEH Region through tuber crops technology got under way at ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam here on Tuesday. The main objective of the workshop is to pave way for food and nutritional security in the region through improved varieties of popular tuber crops. The mode of operation is to train Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) personnel in the modern agri-management practices of important tuber crops and impact assessment so that ultimate benefits can reach the tribal farmers in the north eastern region.
