NONGSTOIN: In what could be termed as another case of high handedness by the Assam Police, The Managing Committee of the Miangbyrkong Lower Primary School, near Langpih alleged that cops from the neighbouring state demolished an under construction kitchen shed and toilet of the SSA LP School. In a written complaint submitted a written complaint to the Joint District Mission Co- Ordination, Nongstoin regarding the atrocities and high- handedness of the Assam Police at Miangbyrkong on July 18.

They complained that as per the sanction, the Committee had withdrawn an amount of Rs 3.5 lakh out of the total sanctioned amount of Rs 7 lakh for the construction of the SSA LP School which also included the construction of a kitchen shed and a toilet. However, during the construction, the Assam Police came to the scene and demolished the incomplete structure and confiscated materials from the spot. They only left behind eight bags of cement which they could not take.

The committe further alleged that the Assam Police also took away with them the tools of the carpenters and warned them from resuming the construction.
