NONGSTOIN: The FKJGP Nongstoin Circle on Tuesday gave telecom service provider Aircel a 20-day deadline to resolve the network problems faced by the peolple of the area failing to which the NGO would shut down all the towers of the company here.

The FKJGP also shot off a complaint letter to the zonal business manager of Aircel regarding the same. “The mobile users in the area have to dial 20-30 times to connect a call and it takes 15-20 minutes to send an SMS successfully,” the FKJGP complain stated.

It also alleged that the company charged the customers with chargeable SMS even when the latter had not requested for it. The NGO complained that beyond midnight to 9 AM, there was no network on a regular basis. Earlier, the FKJGP (Nongstoin Circle) under the leadership of its President Williston W Syiem met the Aircel’s executive engineer Dipen Sutar and the cluster engineer Dhanjit Das at Nongstoin and apprised them of the problems faced by the people.
