SHILLONG: Rivals Langsning FC and Rangdajied United FC played to a 1-1 draw on Friday despite the former drawing first blood in the second half.

Langsning had their opponents struggling in the early stages of the game with some near scares.

The first goal came in the 56th minute with Mayosing making a beautiful ground pass for Joel Ayeni to slide the ball through into the net.

The one goal lead did not appear to be sufficient for Langsning as they pressed hard for a second.

However, it was Rangdajied who scored, courtesy a corner taken by David in the 77th minute, with a diversion allowing Jeribe Kelechi to head the ball past the goalkeeper and earn them the much-coveted equaliser.

Earlier, Rangdajied nearly scored a goal in the 26th minute when Babatunde sent a powerful low shot to beat the keeper as well as the goal. Seconds later, Babatunde headed a cross from David only to miss by inches.
