Guwahati: Three persons were injured, one of them seriously, when a crude bomb exploded at a village near Goreswar town in Baksa district under the violence-affected Bodoland Territorial Autonomous District Council (BTC) in Assam on Sunday.

Police informed that a transistor like object was spotted lying on a paddy field in the area by a person who brought it to the road to show it to two others. As the bomb went off, all the three unsuspecting persons were injured.

Though located in the violence-hit BTC, the district has not been much affected by the spell of

violence so far barring one incident of attack on a family of a minority community. Meanwhile, security has been tightened in the district following Sunday’s low-intensity blast.
