SHILLONG: Rangdajied United FC and MLP FT played to a 1-1 draw after some dramatic moments at the JN Stadium on Wednesday.

Rangdajied were forced to replace their keeper Shambhu Mistry with Babatunde after Mistry suffered a serious ankle injury in the dying moments of the game while earlier.

After a rather ordinary goalless first half the latter session produced some exciting moments.

In the 74th minute, Rangdajied skipper Restom beat the MLP defence to face the opposition keeper Matheus in a one-on-one situation, before calmly dribbling past the latter to slot the ball into the goal.

Just as things were leaning towards Rangdajied’s way, MLP’s Embha Laloo produced a blinder in the 81st minute. Embha took a long shot that sailed into the net after Rangdajied’s keeper Shambhu was found straying away from the goal.

Minutes later, Shambhu suffered an ankle injury while making a desperate attempt to keep the ball away.

The keeper continued to play for another minute before having to leave the field. Striker Babatunde took over and donned the gloves for the next four minutes until the the final whistle.
