Five bodies brought to NEIGRIHMS lMinors handed over to relatives

 JOWAI: The body of one of the accident victims that was taken to Kolkata was mis-identified and had to be returned to Khliehriat CHC.

The relatives were supposed to take the body of one Abhijeet Ghosh but took another unidentified body. It was one of the deceased’s friends who confirmed that the body was not Abhijeet.

The body had been taken in an ambulance to the Guwahati Airport along with the body of one Ranjit Kr Sah of Patna.

On Friday, nine bodies were identified and claimed by relatives including of a couple identified as Surajeet Yadav and his wife, Monica Yadav, of Haryana.

On Thursday, 16 bodies had been claimed by the relatives.

The bodies of the couples were cremated at Khliehriat and after the cremation relatives met the District Social Welfare Office of West Jaintia Hills who handed over the two minor girls (sisters) who had lost their parents in the mishap.

Five bodies which remained unclaimed and unidentified till Friday were sent to NEGRIHMS for preservation.
