TSR jawan shoots himself in Tripura

Agartala: A Tripura State Rifles (TSR) jawan allegedly shot himself dead with the service rifle of his colleague at Padmabil under Khowai police station in West Tripura on Thursday evening.

Police on Friday said the jawan identified as Dipan Kumar (35), a resident of Punjab, reportedly committed suicide by shooting himself, but the reason for taking such extreme step was yet to be ascertained.

Police had recovered the body. The deceased had been working in 1st battalion of TSR as Signal Operator. The body was sent home after postmortem. (UNI)
