TURA: Chief Minister Dr Mukul M Sangma recently flagged off the second Roko Cancer mobile bus in the State at the District Maternity and Child Hospital, Tura.

The Chief Minister in his address urged the medical fraternity to extend all possible support to the team working at Tura since the launching of this programme has been delayed and is behind schedule as planned earlier.

He said that the programme is women-centric and aims at creating cancer awareness that is very important especially in rural areas and further stressed that the people of this region should take this life-saving opportunity which will enable the early detection of cancer so that it can be treated and cured on time. Also speaking on the occasion, Director, Roko Cancer, Shillong gave a brief introduction on Roko Cancer and its mission. The mobile bus is the second such bus in the State with the first one at Shillong which was launched in 2010.
