Thieves arrested

 SHILLONG: Police have arrested three persons in connection with stealing of tyres and reams from Butcher Road in the city on Saturday night. The three accused were identified as Tapan Deb (19) of Mawpat, Agirol Marwein (18) and Deepak Gurung (25) (both from Them Mawbah).

Police also seized four tyres along with reams from their possession. Following their interrogation, police recovered two car speakers which were stolen by the accused from Madanriting.

Jeep runs over girl: A young girl, Ibanlamkynti Syiemiong of Wahkdiat village, Nongmynsong suffered serious injuries after she was run over by a jeep while she was trying to cross the road on Sunday afternoon. Police have detained the driver of the jeep, Phala Lyngdoh. The girl has been admitted at Woodland Hospital.
