Raj Bhavan
On the occasion of the 66th Independence Day celebration, the Raj Bhavan will remain open for the general public on August 15 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 pm. This was informed in an official press note. Meanwhile, NEC will be celebrating the Independence Day on Wednesday at 7.30 am at the office complex.
Padma awards
The Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri award will be announced on the occasion of the Repubic Day, 2013 and intending individuals from the East Khasi Hills who desire their names to be requested for the award can send their nominations to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills on or before September 10.
Convocation
The fifth convocation of the Martin Luther Christian University will be held on August 17 at Shillong Club at 4 pm. MLA and UDP working president Paul Lyngdoh will attend the convocation as the chief guest.
Mega camp
The Roko Cancer Campaign in association with the state government will organise a mega cancer detection camp at All Saint’s Hall on August 18 from 10am till 3pm.
