Shillong: The Khasi Jaintia Deficit School Teachers’ and Employees’ Association (KJDST&EA) has decided to resort to agitations following failure of the Government to release the pending 30 per cent arrears besides addressing a host of other demands.

As part of their first phase of agitation, the teachers have decided to resort to mass casual leave on August 16 and 17.

Earlier, KJDST&EA president ED Nongsiang had warned that they would be forced to resort to agitations to pressurize the Government for releasing the pending arrears.

“We are also unhappy over the delay in the release of the salaries of the teachers,” Nongsiang said.
