Youth’s body recovered

 Shillong: Police on Sunday recovered the body of Gideon Badwar (16) of Mawiong Umjapung who had been reportedly missing after he was suspected to be swept away by a strong current at Sona Pani river during heavy rainfall here on Thursday afternoon.

The body was recovered from Bishop’s Falls here on Sunday by a rescue team.

The flash floods which occurred on Thursday at around 3.30 pm at Sona Pani river following heavy rainfall had carried away four youths out of which three were rescued. The four youth had gone to the place for a picnic and the flash flood occurred while they were crossing the river.
