Blood donation camps held in Shillong, Tura

Shillong: To commemorate the 68th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister late Rajiv Gandhi, the Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress (MYPC) in collaboration with the Meghalaya AIDS Control Society, and NEIGRIHMS organised a one-day blood donation camp at Shillong and Tura on Monday. In Shillong, around 40 donors volunteered to donate blood while 17 others donated blood in Tura. A short programme was held in Shillong, which was attended by the CEM of KHADC, PN Syiem, who appreciated the initiative taken by the MPYC to encourage people to come forward to donate blood. President of the MPYC, Gabriel Wahlang, lauded the efforts of the Youth Congress members to donate blood, while adding that the MPYC will take steps to spread awareness about blood donation.
