 Shillong: One Manju Das (59) was injured when a Tata Sumo (ML05G – 8202) travelling towards Guwahati from Shillong was involved in a head-on collision with another Sumo (AS01H – 1566) coming from the opposite direction at Shang Bangla under Umling Block in Ri Bhoi District on the Monday at 8:51am. The injured was shifted to Nongpoh Civil Hospital.
In another incident, one as Paromatha S Raja (60) sustained injuries when a Mahindra Scorpio travelling towards Guwahati was hit by a Nano (ML05G – 9159) at 15th Mile in Byrnihat, Ri Bhoi District on Monday at 11am. The driver of the Nano, Raja, was shifted to Byrnihat PHC.
A Mahindra pick-up truck (ML05J – 0852) overturned after it skidded and two other vehicles, a Sumo (ML05E – 8171) and a Force Cruiser went off the road and fell into a drain near the Shillong Peak junction at 5th Mile in Upper Shillong on Monday at 10:30am. Three persons including a 6-month-old baby were injured. Two other injured were identified as Jildarist Langstang (19 years/ female), Lyngailin Wanniang (23years/ female). The injured were shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital.
In another incident, Ranjit Hazarika (31), a driver of an Indigo (unregistered) travelling towards Sohra from Shillong sustained injuries when the vehicle was hit by a pick-up truck (ML07B – 0025) near the Shillong Peak junction at 5th Mile in Upper Shillong on Monday at 11:30am.
Two trucks travelling in the opposite direction were involved in a head-on collision at Umran Diary under Umsning Block, Ri Bhoi District on Sunday at 12:45 am. The drivers Sanjay (28years/ male), Anil Jamatia (35years/ male) and a handyman Nonrituma Jamatia (26years/ male) were shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital.
A dumper truck (AS01DC – 5759) went off the road and into a gorge at Umstew under Sohra Block on Sunday at 10:15 am. The 108 Emergency Service Ambulance based at Sohra helped in shifting the injured B Rana (38years/ male) to Sohra CHC and then to Shillong Civil Hospital.
