SHILLONG: The State Government is expected to shortly announce the list of meritorious students who have been selected for the MBBS course in various institutions across the country where seats are reserved for students from Meghalaya under the Central Pool.

While admitting that there has been a slight delay in the announcement of the list, official sources said the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare had delayed announcement of the list of seats which have been reserved for students of Meghalaya under the central pool.

“We have received the list today,” the official sources said, while assuring that the Government would ensure that the list of the students selected for the MBBS course is announced at the earliest.

The source also confirmed that the State has got one seat less this year from the central pool as compared to last year.

“A total of 56 seats have been allotted to Meghalaya as compared to 57 seats last year,” the source said, while assuring that seats would be allotted to the students purely on the basis of merit.
