Incessant rain in the catchment areas were causing the flood situation to turn serious in the districts of Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Golaghat, Sonitpur, Baksa and Kamrup, sources said. Four relief camps have been set up in Baksa district where 23,000 people are taking shelter and another 296 in two relief camps in Baksa district.

Relief and rehabilitation measures have been undertaken by the administration for the succour of the flood victims, the sources added.
