SHILLONG: Employees of the Office of the Commissioner of Transport continued with their mass casual leave on Monday protesting the alleged highhandedness of the Transport Commissioner SN Marak who had slapped an Upper Division Assistant (UDA) last week. The employees have been demanding removal of SN Marak from the post.

Sources from the Transport department revealed that Chief Secretary WMS Pariat will intervene into the matter to sort out the issues between the employees and the Commissioner. The staff had resorted to mass casual leave last Friday also.

However, the Commissioner has denied assaulting the UDA.
