Shillong: The newly-elected members of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the FKJGP on Wednesday demanded the 60 MLAs of the state to give their consent on the implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP).

In a meeting held at Khasi National Dorbar Hall, the newly elected president of the FKJGP Joe Marwein demanded the State Govt to implement the work permit in its true spirit stating that even though the work permit was implemented in the state, there seemed to be no decrease in the number of illegal migrants in the state.

The CEC also discussed on issues pertaining to drinking water and demanded the PHE department to complete the Greater Shillong Water Supply Scheme in time. The federation has also condemned the adamant attitude of the state government in addressing the problems of the teachers.

“We strongly condemned the easy-going attitude of the government in addressing the grievances of the teaching community of the state causing them to hit the streets to get their demands”, Marwein said.
