NESO bandh: Govt to provide buses for employees

 Shillong: In view of the 12-hour bandh called by the North Eastern Student’s Organization (NESO) on Thursday, the District Administration of East Khasi Hills has beefed up security in and around the district to prevent any law and order problems. “Police are already making security arrangements to keep a check on the law and order situation and ensure normalcy in the district”, East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Goyal said here on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, with an order issued by the state government to all government employees to attend office, Goyal informed that government offices will function normally and the district administration has also arranged transportation for the employees to attend their respective offices.

“With the Assembly session still going on, the government employees are required to attend to their duties at the secretariat”, Goyal said.

The government has provided buses which will ply through different routes in the city from 10am.

The routes (1) Laban via Last Stop Laban – Bishnupur-Kench’s Trace Civil Hospital – I.G.P. (2) Rynjah- Madanrting- Nongthymmai- Laitumkhrah- Don Bosco Point- Dhanketi Point- Malki Point – I.G.P. (3) Nongmensong – Pynthorbah – Lumshyiap – Golf-link- Polo – I.G.P. (4) Jaiaw- Mawkhar – Motphran Point – Police Bazar Point- Kachari Point – I.G.P. (5) Mawlai Petrol Point- Mawlai Nonglum Point- Mawlai Mawdatbaki (Stand Bus) – Polo- I.G.P. (6) Mawprem Point – District Council Point – Jhalupara Point- Rilbong Point- Anjalee Petrol Point- Civil Hospital – I.G.P. and (7) 7th Mile Upper Shillong- 5thMile Point – 3rd Mile- Lummawbah Point – Rilbong Point – Civil Hospital Point- I.G.P.

The government will also seek a report from all the district offices on the percentage of attendance which should be submitted by 11am and 2pm respectively.
