NPF recognised in Manipur

DIMAPUR: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has recognised the Naga People’s Front (NPF) as a state party in Manipur also.

NPF has been recognised already as a political party in Nagaland.

On Friday, the Election Commission of India in a letter to the NPF office in Kohima has stated that the former has recognised the NPF as a state party in Manipur under the provisions of the election symbols (Reservation and Allotment), order 1968 as the NPF has fulfilled the conditions laid down in Para 6(a) of the Election Symbols (Reservation and Allotment) order 1968.

On May 27, according to an intimation dispatched by the Manipur State unit of the party to the NPF Central office based in Kohima, the dissolution of the party in Manipur has been done for re-structuring of the party in Manipur. The intimation letter of the Manipur State unit signed by its president G Gaingam on May 24 addressed to the NPF Central president in Kohima which was made available to Newmai News Network on Saturday.
