KHLIEHRIAT: Police personnel at the Infiltration check gate, Byndihati while conducting regular checking detected 13 Bangladeshi Nationals who had intruded into East Jaintia Hills.
Police sources informed that four of the intruders were arrested on Friday and the rest on Sunday.
Police also informed that four of the intruders crossed over to the Indian territory from Kuliang area and on reaching Donaskul village they boarded in a Tata Sumo and the nine others intruded from Huroi area and boarded in a vehicle from Sunapur village.
“We interrogated them and they revealed that they have come to India in search for a job in the coal mines”, a police source said. All 13 foreigners also revealed that they have come from Sylhet District of Bangladesh
“A case has been registered against them under Foreign Act”, source added.
