City set to host Meghabytes NICT 2012

 SHILLONG: The Northeast Information and Communication Technology (NICT) in partnership with the State Government will hold the first edition of ‘Meghabytes NICT 2012’ on Friday.

The theme for NICT being ‘Enabling the Northeast’, the focus for its Meghalaya chapter will be ‘Empowering Meghalaya with Technology’ and is expected to set up pace for IT-led development in Meghalaya and rest of the the Northeast.

The event comprising a day-long conference is an initiative at enabling the Northeast, especially Meghalaya’s business community, with the power of Information Technology.

The event brings together IT & business leaders, policy makers, academicians and IT enthusiasts of the region with an objective to project the developmental potential of northeast and Meghalaya to the national investor community.

The event will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma. Other guests will include IT Minister AL Hek and Chief Secretary WMS Pariat.

Later in the day, the Chief Minister will be hosting an interactive session where he will elaborate on the future plans to gear up Meghalaya for the next level of growth.
