Unclaimed bodies
One Pradip Deka (32) of Nagaon district of Assam, who was found lying in a semi-unconscious stage on the road side at Nongmynsong on September 4, was declared dead by the Shillong Civil Hospital authorities the next day. He has a swarthy complexion; medium built with round face and black hair and about 5 feet 3 inch tall and was wearing a black shirt and black trousers. Relatives are requested to come forward to claim the body.
One Dayamoy Deb Purkayastha (50) of Hailakandi district of Assam was found lying dead at his rented house at Umkdiat Nongmynsong. The body is being kept at the Shillong Civil Hospital morgue. He has a swarthy complexion; thin and was wearing a white shirt, grey high neck and a lungi. Relatives are requested to come forward to claim the body.
Local holiday
The Deputy Commissioner of Ri Bhoi has informed that all the State Government offices, Revenue and Magisterial courts and educational institutions in the district will remain closed on September 18 on account of Unitarian Anniversary Day.
Legal awareness
The Ri Bhoi Development and Social Welfare Association, Umsning recently organised a one-day legal awareness programme at Umsning. Local MLA JA Lyngdoh and Deputy Commissioner Akashdeep graced the occasion.
Onam
The Kalakairaly, a socio cultural association of Keralites in Shillong will celebrate Onam on September 16 at Anton Hall, Laitumkhrah from 10am. The programme will be inaugurated by Governor RS Mooshahary.
