Assistant Professor of NEHU Linguistics department, Saralin A Lyngdoh, daughter of noted Khasi writer Dr JS Shangpliang and Mrs Matilda Lyngdoh was awarded a PhD degree by the Delhi University recently for her thesis ‘Empty Categories in Khasi’. She completed her thesis under the supervision of Prof Tista Bagchi.

Martin Luther Christian University awarded the PhD to Larilin Kharpuri for her research project entitled ‘Edaphic and Phytosociological Study in a Limestone Mining Area at Mawsmai, Meghalaya’.

Evarisha M Syiem was awarded the PhD by Martin Luther Christian University for her research project entitled ‘A Study on Improving the English Writing Skills of Higher Secondary Students in Meghalaya, India through a Three-Week Module’.

Junie Pearl Lyngdoh was awarded the PhD by Martin Luther Christian University for her project entitled ‘A Study on the Ethnomedicinal Plants among the Khasis of East Khasi Hills District, Meghalaya’.

Binoyargha Dam has secured 1st Class 3rd position in Chemistry in the MSc 4th semester results declared by NEHU. He is the son of Late Binit Bhushan Dam and Archana Dam of Bholaganj, East Khasi Hills.
