Shillong: The Jaintia Youth Federation-War Jaintia region (JYF/WJR) has decided to call for an office picketing in War Jaintia region on September 20 in protest against the adamant attitude of the state government to address their demands to appoint a doctor at Dawki PHC.
In a statement issued here on Friday, JYF-WJR vice president Founder S Gashnga said that till date, the PHC has only one doctor. “Because this PHC has more or less become like the CHC or the civil hospital in Jowai and Shillong due to the increasing number of patients even those from East Khasi Hills, it is felt that more doctors should be placed in this PHC”, Gashnga said.
