Hudgens has been honoured at the Power of Youth Awards for her charity work with a children’s foundation.
The 23-year-old actress accepted the award from the film’s director Kenny Ortega for her work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions, reported Daily Mail.
“I think that everybody should have a chance to follow their dreams, but sometimes following your dreams isn’t always that easy. “So when I was about 16-years-old, I became involved with Make-A-Wish while filming High School Musical. We would have set visits with kids and I’ve been addicted to being a part of the organisation ever since,” she said.
Hudgens was later joined by Grammy-nominated recording artist Jordin Sparks, who was honoured for her work with Childhelp, an organisation dedicated to helping victims of child abuse and neglect. (PTI)
