Party worker attacked

IMPHAL: In another poll-related incidents (the ensuing Panchayat election), a party worker’s house was attacked by some armed men at Top Chingtha Gram Panchayat under Yairipok Police Station under Thoubal district on September 15 at around 2.30.

The attacked worker is identified as one Ningthoujam Muhindro of Top Chingtha, Yairipok Police Station.

Addressing media persons, Ningthoujam Asangbi (64), mother of Muhindro alleged that K. Keshokumar, husband of Kongbam (O) Inaomacha, a candidate of Top Chingtha Gram Panchayat along with Maibam Nodia and other two/three armed men had fired one round of bullet inside the premise of Muhindro’s house.

Condemning the incident, Asangbi also questioned the Police department saying whether the Police had given permission to commit such kind of atrocities on women. (NNN)
