PTI wins award for technology innovation

New Delhi: India’s premier newsagency, The Press Trust of India (PTI), has won a prestigious award for technology innovation.

The Skoch Digital Inclusion Awards, instituted by Skoch group, is given every year to corporate, government organisations and institutions, civil society, financial services sectors and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) for showing exemplary use of technology to serve the country and economy.

PTI won the Gold award in the “Competitiveness” category for “Driving Business through Technology innovations”.

The news agency’s chief engineer, Tridib Bordoloi, received the award from R Chandrashekhar, Telecom Secretary and Chairman of Telecom Commission, Department of Telecommunications, in the presence of Law Minister Salman Khurshid and Nandan Nilekani who is the chairman of Unique Identification Authority of India.
