 SHILLONG: For the first time, Shillongties will witness a Spelling Bee contest, a competition where contestants, usually children, are asked to spell words, live. Hosted by the American Center Kolkata, the contest will be held at Don Bosco Youth Centre on Friday at 11. 30 am.

Over 200 high school students will be participating in the contest. They will also get an opportunity to interact with the Director of American Center, Jeffrey K. Reneau.

The American Center, Kolkata will also organize the Autumn Music Festival, Shillong Preliminary Round at Cloud 9, Hotel Center Point on Friday at 7. 30 pm.

In collaboration with Cloud 9 and Red FM, the American Center’s AMF preliminary round aims at hunting for Shillong’s best musical band.

The first All India American Center Spelling Bee contest was organized at Kolkata in 2007.
