22-year-old drowns

TURA: Deputy Commandant of 40 BN BSF, PK Jarika, has informed that a man, identified as Habit Sangma, had drowned in the Simsang river on Monday afternoon, and necessary efforts were being taken to recover the body.

According to reports, the incident occurred when the victim, a resident of Bilkona, Baghmara, had fallen into the river from a country boat.

Local villagers immediately approached the BSF for a speed boat to trace the body.

Despite long hours of search, the body has not been recovered yet.

The BSF have apprised the BGB of Bangladesh of the matter.
