The BSF on Monday apprehended six Bangladeshis from Kuliang in East Jaintia Hills. They were arrested from near the Sonapur bridge. The arrested persons have been identified as Abdul Mannan (50), Rahul Amin (26), Rukman Ahmed (19), Nizamuddin (19), Harijuddin (19), and Sujan Ahmed (19). During search, Indian currency worth Rs 300 and two mobile phones were recovered from them. They have been handed over to the police.

Five Bangladeshi nationals were detected by the staff of Khliehriat check point on Monday. They have been identified as Sayaed Ahmed (25), Mashuk Ahmed (21), Shahad Ahmed (19), Jahad Ahmed (20) and Burham Uddin (20).

On Sunday, police arrested one Suklang Wanniang (23) of Mawpun village in West Khasi Hills for allegedly raping a 9-year-old minor.

Two unknown miscreants were involved in the damaging of two ATMs at SBI Main Branch between September 22 and 24. A case has been registered.

On September 22 at around 11.30 pm one Paulus Nongrum allegedly assaulted one Victor Kharkrang at Umlyngka, Upper Shillong. The victim sustained injuries and was shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital for treatment.
