Adhyay has been selected for screening at the 14th Mumbai Film Festival. Paanch Adhyay, starring Dia Mirza, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Soumitra Chatterjee and film-maker Suman Mukhopadhyay, has been selected for the New Faces section of the Indian Cinema at the prestigious international festival organised by the Mumbai Academy of Moving Images. Set in Kolkata and set to the tunes of Shantanu Moitra, the Bengali film revolves around the journey of a modernday couple that takes them into the past and present.

Gupta told PTI, “The news comes as a surprise to me because Paanch Adhyay has so many songs, and it is in that way not exactly a festival-friendly film.” The festival committee must have liked the fresh approach and treatment, he felt. The festival will take place between October 18 and October 25. The story of the film, written by the director himself, is set for a Durga Puja release. (PTI)
