SHILLONG: The Jaintia Students’ Union (JSU) has issued an extended deadline on 30 days to the JHADC to implement the multi-crore Iawmusiang Market Project in Jowai, threatening to resort to agitation if the project fails to take off.

JSU general secretary, Emperor Bareh, said the deadline was issued after their meeting with JHADC Chief Executive Member, Lamdibok Sumer, failed to make any headway.

The foundation stone for construction of the six-storey market complex was laid by former Lok Sabha Speaker PA Sangma in 2008
