SHILLONG: The Ri-Bhoi police have arrested Plosis Swer who had illegally detained Junali Koch (11) from Pahamsyiem in Nongpoh, Ri-Bhoi district.

The girl who had gone missing since April this year was finally traced from the house of the accused in Jagiroad, Assam on Thursday.

While ruling out the angle of trafficking in this case, Ri-Bhoi SP Claudia A Lyngwa said that the accused had kept the girl to work as his maidservant.

Meanwhile, he said that they have also arrested Madhuri Khajar (16) who was responsible to take the young girl to the house of the accused who is her uncle.

“We have forwarded the girl to the juvenile home in Shillong on Friday,” Lyngwa said.
