Lok Adalat

The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority in collaboration with the West Khasi Hills District Administration will organise a Lok Adalat at Nongstoin Public School on October 13 from 10am onwards. The purpose of the Lok Adalat is to settle compoundable cases by way of amicable compromise through appointed conciliators.

Felicitation

Shillong Muslim Socio-Cultural and Educational Association organised a felicitation ceremony on Sunday at the Madrasa Islam Upper primary School, Lumdiengjri.

AMJU meet

The general body meeting of the newly-formed All Meghalaya Journalists Union (AMJU) will be held at Shillong Press Club at 10 am on Tuesday to elect the first executive body of the union.

Dance performance

Jayant Kastuar, secretary of the Sangeet Natak Akademi, Delhi will render a Kathak Dance performance to be hosted by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Shillong under the Directorate of Arts and Culture and La-Riti Foundation at Bangiya Sahitya Parishad, Jail Road on Thursday at 3pm.

Rangbah Shnong

Former State Advocate General WHD Syngkon has been re-elected as a Rangbah Shnong of Mawkhar locality during a meeting of the local Dorbar on September 29. The Dorbar has also elected local MLA Friday Lyngdoh as adviser, Dr PB Toi as assistant Rangbah Shnong, Shngainlang Laloo as secretary and Rishanlang Syiemlieh as treasurer among others.

Competition

Meghalaya State Commission for Child Welfare will conduct a national painting completion for four age groups at Seven Set School on October 6. The best five paintings from each group would be sent to Delhi for the national-level painting completion.
