BSF troops of Bholaganj, East Khasi Hills district on Sunday apprehended a Bangladeshi FICN racketeer Habibur Rahman (28) while he was trying to infiltrate into India. Fake Indian Currency worth Rs 52,000 was seized from his possession.
One person succumbed to his injuries after being stabbed at Iew Mawlong here on Tuesday afternoon. The deceased identified as Chanu Chetri (24), a labourer, was shifted to the hospital where he was declared dead. Police have arrested one Charles Marbaniang (40) of Lawsohtun Block I in this connection.
