New Delhi: AICC General Secretary in charge Meghalaya, Col (retd) Dhani Ram Shandil was on Monday nominated to contest from Solan (reserved constituency) by the party high command. Dr Shandil had succeeded former Goa Chief Minister Luizinho Faleiro during the peak of dissident movement in the hill state more than a year ago. He also heads the state election committee in Meghalaya.

After weeks of hectic lobbying before the party high command in Delhi, Congress has just declared its list of election candidates, for the crucial November 4 poll, which included Shandil.
