JOWAI: A team of the Meghalaya People United Front (MPUF) under the leadership of its president, D Wanmi Laloo, inspected the Saitsama Police Outpost and the Nartiang Police Investigation Centre (PIC) on Saturday.

“We detected various problems at the Saitsama outpost and the Nartiang PIC,” the MPUF said in a statement issued here.

The MPUF informed that the same officer was deputed to look after both the police outpost and the PIC.

“During the inspection we found that the officer had gone on leave. However, senior police officials in the district had not deputed any other officer to look after the area,” the MPUF statement added.

The Police outpost has no man power, no electricity and no water supply and most importantly those deputed in the area has no proper arms to deal with any unforeseen situation, the MPUF informed.
