JOWAI: Officials of the Dorbar Shnong Tympang Club, Jowai have alleged that a private market run by the Jowai Presbyterian Church has encroached onto the PWD Road at Iawshyiap near the JHADC Office.

Members of the Dorbar Shnong on Thursday met West Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner, Peter S Dkhar, and registered a complaint against the market authority over the alleged encroachment.

General secretary of Tympang Club, Jowai, A Lywait, informed that the Dorbar Shnong had earlier lodged a complaint with the PWD and the former DC about the encroachment on the public road but the complaint fell on deaf ears.

“The encroachment has created inconvenience to the general public and vehicles plying through the highly-congested PWD Road,” Lywait informed.
