SHILLONG: The ANVC (B) has urged the Nokmas (traditional heads in Garo Hills) to address the issue of influx.

In a statement issued here, the ANVC(B) leader Rimpu Marak said that it was time, Nokmas should understand their role in the society and exercise their powers with utmost wisdom and sincerity.

The GHADC has failed to safeguard the interest of the indigenous people as for them vote matters and party politics is a priority. The Nokmas need to take up the issue of influx and illegal settlement seriously, otherwise consequences will be fatal”, ANVC (B) leader added .
