Jailbreak hearing on Friday

SHILLONG: The next hearing of Justice (retd) SP Rajkhowa inquiry commission probing the Shillong jail break of May 31, 2009 will be held on Friday.

The Government recently extended the tenure of the commission for three more months to facilitate the submission of the inquiry report by January 10 next.

An official associated with the commission said that during the hearing on Friday dates will be fixed for examination of more witnesses and forensic reports. The commission subsequently will carry out cross examination of witnesses.

The official added that the commission would submit the report to the Government by January 10.
