SHILLONG: KHADC Executive Member (EM) in-charge of Council Building and Revenue Collection Marbok Kharpran has informed that the Council has issued a fresh deadline for completion of the building of the Nongstoin Market.

While replying to a question raised by Mairang Congress MDC Rasor Rani on the final day of the Council’s Autumn Session on Thursday, Kharpran said the original deadline to complete the project was August, 2012.

“We have directed the contractor to complete the project by September, 2013,” KHADC EM in-charge of Council Building and Revenue College said.

According to Kharpran, several factors led to the delay in the completion of the project.

Replying to a supplementary of Rani, Kharpran informed that the total estimated cost of the project is Rs 5.29 crore while adding that so far, a total amount of Rs 2.18 crore was already spent.
