SHILLONG: The Reverend Miller case has taken a new turn with the filing of two counter FIRs by Miller’s wife against one of the witnesses on Wednesday stating the witness had threatened their daughter, Grace Miller in two occasions.

According to the FIR, the witness (name withheld) allegedly pulled Miller’s daughter, Grace and threatened her at two places, IGP point on October 15 at 6:30 pm and Dhankheti on October 16 at 5:30 pm.

Terming the FIR’s as ‘False FIRs’, CSWO president Agnes Kharshiing said “It is shocking to note that an FIR has been lodged against one of the witnesses trying to help the rape victim get justice in the Miller rape case.

Stating that it was a clear case of trying to intimidate the witnesses, the CSWO president said attempts are being made to weaken the case, which is very strong against a person who has perpetrated such crimes against minor children all these years.

“What is even more surprising is that the names of witnesses are leaking out”, Kharshiing said while adding that the FIR’s should not be entertained and strong action should be taken against the person filing it.

Rev SK Miller will be produced at the court on Friday morning.
