SHILLONG: A police constable of the 4th MLP Battalion allegedly hanged himself in his room located in his workplace at Sohpian in West Khasi Hills at around 10pm on Friday.
The deceased had used the rope, which he was using as his rifle belt, to hang himself.
According to police sources, the constable identified as Godfree Sungoh (32) hails from Nongthymmai locality of Shillong while his family resides in Jowai.
Police also claimed that the deceased was a psychiatric patient and was undergoing treatment.
They also claimed that the deceased might have been suffering from some mental disorder and this could be reason behind his action.
