Valedictory function
The valedictory function of the Wildlife Week Celebrations 2012 will be held at the All Saints Cathedral Hall on October 30 at 11 am. Forest and Environment Minister Prestone Tynsong will be the chief guest.
Oath taking ceremony
The oath taking ceremony of the newly elected office bearers of West Khasi Students Union will be held on November 26 at 10 am at Mawlangwir Indoor stadium, South West Khasi Hills union.

The FKJGP Jaiaw Circle will organise the 1st penalty-shoot out open to all on Saturday at Madan Student at Jaiaw at 8am.
Death anniv
The 22nd death anniversary of Captain Williamson A Sangma was observed on Thursday at Captain William Williamson Memorial Park, Baghmara in a befitting manner. Local MLA Satto Marak was the chief guest on the occasion.
Eid greetings
The Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee has wished the people of the state and the Muslim brethren in particular on the occasion of Id -ul-Azha. The MPCC in a statement issued here said that the festival would foster national integration.
Procession
The St Joseph’s Church Parish Mawkhar will be holding a ‘Maria procession’ on Sunday at 5pm from the Praish to Dorbar Syiem Mylliem at Wahingdoh, Jingkieng Lawmali which will culminate at Community Hall Wahingdoh.

Dorbar Shnong
The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council has asked the Rangbah Shnong Lawmei Pdengshnong to call a dorbar shnong on November 5 at 11am which will be attended by the officer of the KHADC in the presence of the representative of the Dorbar of the Syiem of Mylliem.
Apprehended
The BSF in Sonatala, East Khasi Hills on Wednesday apprehended three Indian smugglers identified while they were moving towards the IBB Fence from the village road.
