To expand the awareness drive on electoral registration the administration has opened a Facebook page and also begun sending SMSes on mobile phones to ensure that eligible voters do not miss out on exercising their democratic right.
“The youth who are outside the ambit of the electoral rolls are being given emphasis in this special drive and they should make the most of it,” said Bakshi.
He said that anyone attaining the age of 18 can approach the electoral officer with a copy of his school certificate and other necessary documents to get enrolled.
The three icons also made strong appeals for the youth to come forward and get registered before the expiry of the deadline.
