‘Congress can give a stable development oriented government’

Itanagar: ‘No other party except Congress can give the people a friendly, stable and development oriented government in the country as well as in the state,’ said Union DoNER Minister Pawan Singh Ghatowar on Friday.

Congratulating Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki for his successful completion of one year in his office at a function, organised by Doimukh circle Block Congress Committee (BCC), held at Rono Field at Doimukh, the Union Minister said Rs 24,000 crore has been sanctioned by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for development of various projects in the state. He thanked the people for their constant support to the party.

Condemning the BJP, the DoNER Minister said the party always entrusted on their religion and caste based policy which the Congress did not support and urged the people not to be misguided and be united against those who were trying to divide the nation.

Highlighting a few ongoing developmental projects which were sanctioned by the Central government in the recent past, he assured that his ministry would take every possible step in the overall development of this NE region.

A sum of Rs 1717 crore budget estimated has been sanctioned by the Centre for the construction of the ongoing broad-gauge work of existing Rongia to Murkongselek railway project and construction of new railway line from Harmuti to Itanagar, he said, adding, the project will be completed soon.
