Swimming event

The Meghalaya Swimming Association (MSA) will organise the ‘Save Our Aquatic Ecosystem’, a swimming event to promote swimming and to create an environmental awareness at Umiam Lake on November 10 at 10am. The event is open for everyone.

 Programme

All India Radio, Shillong will organise a programme La Tynrai ban Tyngkai at Madan Pahamsyiem, Nongpoh, on November 6. The Chief Adviser to the state government DD Lapang who is also the local MLA will be the chief guest.

 General Committee

The Seng Khasi Seng Raij will hold a general meeting to discuss the recent abuse of the scared Seng Khasi flag by the Irish Shullai Puja Committee at Seng Khasi Ri Raid Laban in Bishnupur on Sunday at 12 noon.

 Foundation day

The Bharat scouts and guides will celebrate it’s foundation day and Rajay Purashkar Rally on November 7 at the Raj Bhavan; where Governor RS Mooshahary will be the chief guest and chief secretary WMS Pariat who is also the president of the BSG will also be present on the occasion.

The Hynniewtrep Achik National Movement (HANM) Jaintia Hills has opposed the proposed public hearing of the Nilanchal Cement Pvt to be held on November 7, at Umlong Kinongrim, Jaintia Hills. Whereby the association has alleged the company of breaking all the laws of the land while being an agent of environmental degradation.
